Medical Care
The medical care comprises examination and treatment. All injuries are documented in writing and photographed. In case of sexual abuse necessary tests are taken. All these things are done in order to secure evidence that could form the basis for a medico-legal certificate in case you as a patient should choose to report the perpetrator to the police so that a preliminary investigation can be started. The doctor or midwife takes her time for a supportive talk, and you will be offered a second appointment in the immediate future.
Psychosocial Care
NCK:s medical social workers can offer support talks and crisis talks. Contacts with other authorities and organisations may be necessary, but everything is done in agreement with the patient. If you have come as an emergency patient for a medical examination, you will always be offered a contact with a medical social worker. You can also make appointments on telephone.
