Interpreters

If you do not speak Swedish or if you have impaired hearing or speech, the hospital can arrange for an interpreter.

As a patient you have the right to satisfactory information about diseases and therapies. It is therefore important that you use a interpreter to ensure communication in your own tongue. Your children and other relatives should not need to interpret for you.

To avoid delays, if possible, please inform us beforehand if you need this service.

The same rules on patient privacy and confidentiality apply for interpreters as for other healthcare personnel. The sole function of an interpreter is to translate for you. Interpreter services are offered free of charge, patients at Akademiska sjukhuset need not pay for the use of an interpreter.
